What is an ERP - and why it matters
ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning - software that helps you control total business functionality from one place. An ERP usually covers accounting, financial reporting, CRM and sales, often with job costing, inventory control and scheduling too.
The advantage over a collection of separate packages is that data flows from one part of the software to the next. You don't keep multiple copies of the same clients or contacts, so you avoid the synchronisation issues, errors and confusion that duplication creates.
